How much is my case worth?
There's no single number — it depends on what happened and what was hurt. Pick what happened below to go straight to the calculator built for that case type. Each one runs the same multiplier method, tuned to the specifics of that claim.
By accident type
Car accident
Median $16,000, mean with injuries $24,500 (Martindale-Nolo, 2020).
Truck accident
Settles higher than car accidents — more severe injuries, carrier must carry $300K–$5M minimum insurance.
Motorcycle accident
Higher severity bands — motorcyclists lack structural protection (NHTSA, 2023).
Bicycle accident
Same multiplier method, plus state safe-passing-distance law context.
Uber or Lyft accident
Which policy pays depends on the driver's app status at the time of the crash.
Dog bite
Average $64,555 through homeowner's insurance (III, 2022). Strict liability vs. one-bite rule matters.
Slip and fall
Median $20,000–$45,000 (Martindale-Nolo, 2020). Premises liability and notice are the key issues.
Workplace injury
Workers' comp track, plus a possible third-party claim if someone other than your employer contributed.
Something else / not sure
The general calculator: medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and your state's negligence rule.
By body part
If the accident type matters less to you than the specific injury, start here instead — each page has jury verdict ranges tuned to that body part.
What actually moves the number
Four things drive a settlement estimate more than anything else: medical bills (the base the multiplier applies to), injury severity (which multiplier band applies, 1.5x to 10x), fault (your state's comparative or contributory negligence rule), and whether you were represented — the IRC found represented claimants recovered roughly 3.5x more on average, largely because attorneys refuse the first offer.
